Ministry adds two conservation areas to boost blue economy

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries has strengthened its commitment to conserving marine ecosystems by adding two new conservation areas in the waters of Bintan, Riau Islands, and Bitung, North Sulawesi. Director general of marine and marine space management at the ministry, Victor Gustaaf Manoppo, said that the establishment of the two conservation areas is regulated by the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister’s decrees, Number 87 and 88 of 2024.
